Pick a route. Call your shot. Complete the challenge.

Adventure without the race-day machinery.

The Cascadian Wilderness Endurance Series is a thrilling and multi-faceted annual adventure blogging contest that caters to Trailrunners, Fastpackers, and Backpackers.  The series combines the routes of the UltraPedestrian Wilderness Challenge and the Wild Idaho Endurance Challenge and continues to develop new routes each year.

Unlike typical races, this challenge doesn't offer any aid stations, course markings, start/finish lines, or cut-offs.

To participate, find the route that suits you best, call your shot on the facebook group and complete the challenge unsupported to earn a prestigious finisher patch.

Run for the trails

Profits from the CWES will be donated toward trail maintenance and wilderness preservation groups like the WTA.

It's basically a fundraiser, but you get to do an Ultra for Funsies, challenge yourself, and see some amazing scenery too. Everybody wins.

Challenge stewards

Steven Palmer is the 2018 UPWC Badass of the Year recipient and founder of the Wild Idaho Endurance Challenge.

Kristoffer Jonson is a McDonalds aficionado, participating member since 2018 and 2 routes short of completing all the UPWC origin routes.

Ras and Kathy Vaughan are the UPWC founders whose contributions leave a lasting legacy -- we remain grateful.

Brad Hefta-Gaub was the self described assistant to the manager and greased the UPWC machine for years -- thank you.
